Music starts when speech stops! 'L. Tolstoï'
P e d a g o g y

Music is an international language that allows one to express and communicate beyond speech and in a much more profound way. The child is desirous to learn, the youth look for a way to express their emotions and the adult is eager to understand, or simply to realize a childhood dream.
Claire has been a deputy teacher at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, London UK, in Junior Department since 2007. She is a committed and enthusiastic person that wishes to share her passion of music with her students and the elegance, charm and magical aspects of the instrument. Her vision of education is to innovate, bestow the pleasure to work and learn, provide pupils with the taste and feel of achievements and the desire to excel.
She says: "no one leaves her lesson without laughing at least once and without making me laugh in return"
Claire generally will not take students under the age of six. This can depend on the child and she will look at it on a case by case basis. Concerning the very young children, she would like to have the parents support during lessons.

ALEXANDER
"[...] Claire is one of the most inspiring teacher I had. Her innate musicianship and belief in her method is infectious; her technical knowledge completely sound and her approach good humoured. She is a top class musician, always questing for reason, honesty and integrity in what she does, bringing it off with complete security and style."
SILVIA
"I think she is amazing as a harp teacher not just as a harpist. I found so helpful the way she explained to me hands position, arms position, fingers articulating. I really liked her enthusiasm and patience when she gave me lessons."
ALEXANDER
"It has been my privilege to coach a number of works with Claire Iselin's help: her great quality is that of wishing to really share the music, to discuss and explore all phrasings, colours, find the perfect fingering... She wants only the clarity and balance that aids expression."
